Based on a diary by the glam orous Catherine the Gr^.t of Rus sia, who ruled her country with an iron hand and yet was ruled herself by romantic impulses, “The Scarlet Empress” must be rated a spectacle by any standards of judgment. Doss, of Ford Motor Company headquarters at Dearborn, will in troduce the new management to as many dealers in the territory as can attend. W. C. Patterson, long connected with the Ford organization and re cently assistant manager of the company’s Chicago branch, has been named manager of the Char lotte branch. He will be assisted by N. A. Oliver, who formerly held a similar position with the com pany's Norfolk, Virginia, branch. The Charlotte branch, covering all of South Carolina and approxi mately half of North Carolina, wil 1 co-ordinate dealer activities in this region and strengthen the com pany’s service set-up to the ad vantage generally of Ford owners in this territory. The new arrange ment will also be instrumental in insuring rapid deliveries of new equipment to business firms requir ing trucks and commercial cars as well as to purchasers of passenge: cars. The reopening of the Charlott- 7 branch comes at a time when this territory has shown substantia' gains and when not only Ford busi ness, but commercial activity of al' kinds, has been very favorable throughout this region of the coun try. The significance of the Ford Mo tor Company branch to Charlotte and to this section of the south is obvious. Not only will it necessi tate the employment of additional persons by the Ford Motor Com pany in Charlotte, but it will add one more to the already impressive list of large companies maintaining branches in this section.
