The Ladies’ Aid Society of the Pressly Memorial Church will meet Friday, August 17, at 4 o’clock with Mrs. Bob Godfry. At. the request of many who missed the Shakespearean play, “Mid-Summer Night's Dream," presented by Miss Lucille Caudle the 13th of July, she has decided to present the performance with additional Shakespearean features, August 23rd at the high school au ditorium. The public should avail themselves of this opportunity as it will be well worth their time. Buffalo Church Tuesday afternoon. Whipple is pastor of the First Bap tist Church at Jesup, Georgia. and elsewhere will be glad to know that he is recuperating satisfac torily. Friends here will be interested to learn that Miss Selma Walker, daughter of Judge and Mrs. H. C. Walker, has accepted a government position in Washington, D. C. She graduated from Winthrop College in the 1934 class. Mrs. Wistar Harmon and son, Wistar, Jr., returned Sunday from a two weeks’ visit in Abbeville. Misses Atwood and Mattie Mae Henderson returned home Wednes day from a week’s visit to their ' cousin, Miss Sue Frances Whitney, of Union. Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Whitney of Union spent Wednesday night with Mr. J. W. Henderson and family. Miss Rucia Abercrombie is on a visit to friends in Columbia. Mrs. H. K. Faust and little son of Williston spent several days in town this week with her husband, H. K. Faust. Mrs. L. C. Branyon of Mt. Carmel is here on a visit to her sister, Mrs. A. B. Lyon. Miss Helen Rodgers and Miss Virginia Penn of Greenwood were visitors of. Mae Coleman last week Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Wall have returned from a week’s visit to Hendersonville, N. C. Mrs. H. C.
