State highway department and is now located in McCormick. O. Graves on last Friday afternoon. The devotional was conducted by Mrs. C. H. Workman. The hymn, “More Like the Master,” was sung by the class, and scripture read by| Mrs. J. S. Strom. Several enter taining readings were given, in cluding “The Gospel According to Youth,” Mrs. Wistar Harmon; “Am I My Brother’s Keeper?,” Mrs. John T. Faulkner, and “How We All May Become Beautiful,” Mrs. R. G. Kil- lingsworth. After the business was | concluded, Mrs. Graves, assisted by Mrs. Elmer Creighton, Mrs. A. J. Gar rick, 85, a former Orangeburg Coun ty citizen, who died at the Confed erate Home, Columbia, on April 4th, after being confined to his bed for several months, were held at 11 o’clock Friday, April 6th, at Union Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Collier of Norway Methodist Church, assisted by the Rev. Paul Bolen of the Baptist Church. Mr. Garrick united with the Methodist Church when a young man and was a regular attendant at church until his health; failed, and was a devoted church worker. Mr. Garrick was married in 1875 to Miss Cornelia Ann Davis, daugh ter of the late Morgan A. Davis of Orangeburg, who preceded him to the gratVe some years ago, and to this union were born six children, wo of whom preceded him to the grave, Mrs. V. S. Hutto and Mrs. B. B. Brickie. The surviving chil dren are Mrs. Cora A. Sandifer, Mc Cormick; Eldon P. Garrick, Nor way; Ben Hill Garrick, St. Peters burg, Fla., and Mrs. B. B. Steven- | Messrs. L. M. McCracken of Tolbert and T.
