As noted in last week’s issue of
the Presbyterian this happy event
took place as scheduled September
6, at high noon, in the A. R. 1*1
church, Greenville.
No cards had been issued, how
ever, a large number of interested
friends from Greenville, Due West,
Anderson, Laurens, Abbeville and
Mt. Carmel gathered to witness
the marriage of these two young,
friends, Miss Ruby Corinne Smith
and Dr. William Walker Edwards.
The church was tastily decorated
with bridal array.
Before the ceremony a program
of nuptial music was rendered.
Mrs. Collins Spivey, of Conv;ay,
sister df the groom, was at the
piano, as accompanist, Miss Grace
Robinson of Greenville, sang “I
Love You Truly” and “At Dawn
ing.” Mrs. W. H. Powe played the
violin obligato to these numbers.
Mrs. Spivey played the wedding
march.

ed the lives of these two young
people. Rev. W. A. McAulay pro
nounced the benediction.
Mrs. Edwards is the daughter of
Mrs. Cora Lane Smith of Mt. Car
mel. She had her first year’s train
ing in hospital work at Anderson
hospital, later taking post-graduate-
work at Woman's Hospital, New
York for eighteen months. She
came to Greenville City Hospital
staff from Baltimore where for two
years she was surgical supervisor in
a hospital.
Dr. Edwards, son of Mr. and Mrs.
W. W. Edwards, Due West, a grad
uate of Furman University and the
Sou^h Carolina Medical College, at
Charleston, served his internship
at the Greenville City Hospital and
since practiced in Greenville.
Following a wedding trip of two
weeks to New York and into Can-
