Mr. Luther Drennan, agricultural teacher in the school at Pinewood, spent the week end near town with relatives. Miss Nell Sharpton has returned from a week’s visit to relatives in Augusta. Miss Rosa Strom is spending some time with Mrs. S. J. Chandler in Minturn, S. C. Messrs. H. N. Coleman and T. C. Faulkner were visitors in Atlanta Sunday. Miss Frances Britt has returned from Bowling Green, Ky., where she attended summer school the past six weeks. Dr. and Mrs. W. G. Blackwell are in Charlotte, N. C^ for a ten days’ visit to their daughter, Mrs/T. E. Snelling. Mr. Austin Abercrombie was a business visitor in Atlanta the past week end. l Mr. J. K. White and family from ‘Columbia are spending a few days bere in the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Martin. Misses Roberta Hinton and Mar tha Witt have returned to their home at Callison, after spending several days here as guests of Mrs. Henry Rush. Mrs. D. P. McCain was taken to the hospital at Woodruff Sunday, where she underwent an operation for appendicitis on Monday. Mrs. Fanny McNeil of Abbeville has returned to her home after spending some time here with her brother, Mr. J. E. Palmer, who has been indisposed for several days. He is improving slowly. Miss Elizabeth Browji left last Friday for Beaufort, where she will be the guest of Miss Louise Black- well. Since graduating with honors from Erskine College, Due West, in 1929 she has been a most successful teacher of French and English in the High Schools of Dover, N. and Fairfax, S. C. Mr. Croxton, a member of one of the oldestf and most prominent families of Kershaw, has held a position as superintendent of one of the Kershaw schools since his graduation from Erskine in 1930.
