The meeting was then turned over to Mrs. Stallworth, who was very much enthused over selection and care of kitchen equipment, which was very interesting and giving it briefly—there are 3 things to consider, selection, suitability and purpose; also we must consider —do we need it? Will I use it? And must I buy it? She displayed quite a number of nice utensils for the kitchen which we need and can use every day such as dish drainers, batter beat^ cr, egg beater, egg ; sheer, etc. We must study our 1 centers and also study -grouping of utensils around centers where most conven ient. Stove will be one center. Wood box should be near, also big spoon and fork. A shelf nearby should have salt, soda,, sugar, pep per, spices, flour, etc., coffee pot and tea pot near, also coffee and tea. / . ' ' We are expected to buy or make one new pieqe of equipment. The meeting was opened with scripture reading and prayer by the president, Mrs. Manly Willis. Roll called by the secretary, Miss Lettie Mae South, and minutes read. Mrs. Stall- worth then took charge of the meeting. The ladies reported on the steps saved in doing their work, after being advised by Mrs. Stallworth. Mrs. G. W. Cade re duced her steps from giving out meals, from 72 to 25; Mrs. South, 5 to 1, setting table; Mrs. Hodges, 5 to 1, putting on hominy; Mrs. Manly Willis, 23 to 3, filling kettle. Before supper archery, rifle practice, and boat-riding was enjoyed. The affair was thorough ly enjoyed by those present. They were accompanied by Miss James,. Miss Mims, Mrs. Branch and Mrs. Hinds.-. . Mrs., Julia Clary spent Monday with Mrs. R. L. Smith of McCor- mifck. Mrs. Leita Dominick and little Nancy Dominick and Mrs. McTilden of Spartanburg were visitors here insects and useless articles. We had present with us on this occasion two prospective brides, who seemed very much interested in the “dots” on housekeeping. We had quite a number present at this meeting and all enjoyed the after noon. The Sunday night singing, com bined with Mission Study Class, met with Mrs. S. C. Cade. There was a good attendance, as usual, and everyone enjoyed the evening. We have continued all winter with these gatherings at the different homes, and we have had splendid attendance. Mrs. S. E.
