Mrs. Morrah spent the night with her sister, Mrs. Jimmie Boyd, and was accompanied home Sunday morning by Mr. Boyd and family. They were joined by Mr. Morrah and children in the home of Mrs. Mollie Clinkscalos and all enjoyed dinner with her . Oh, the joy of these home comings, when children and grandchildren meet as one family around the old home fire side. Mrs. W. S. Pipkin and Mrs. J. B. Blackwell of McCormick, wore busi ness visitors in Willington for an afternoon this week. We wish Mrs. Pipkin success in her undertaking and hope she may reach the goal of her efforts. Mrs. Guilford Cade and Mrs. Dr. Moore were recent shopping visi tors in town. Mrs. Cade had a number of boarders for some weeks, we are sure it is try ing on her since, both butter and •eggs have been unusually scarce this spring. Prof. W. C. Crow of the De la Howe faculty and Wright Andrews of our home town, were pleasant guests Saturday evening of Mr. R. M. Rush and sister, Miss Francis. Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Cason of Mt. Carmel were visitors to Mrs. Will McNair Saturday afternoon. Al though Mr. Cason goes for an oc- cesional motor trip, he regains his lost strength very slowly. Mrs. Geo. The girl, home from art school, tires of her stodgy village life and her small town fiance. She invents a mythical “husband” and tells her family she has entered a trial marriage with one “Thaddeus Cruickshank.” Strangely enough, there happens to be a man by that name in New York. Her father summons the real Cruickshank to the village home and brings the supposed “husband” and the girl face to fape. Carmel visitor one afternoon last week. Mr. Calhoun Harris of Anderson was a business visitor in Mt. Car mel last week. Mrs. Morris Scott of Augusta spent the latter part of last week visiting relatives here. She re turned to Augusta Saturday after noon and Mr. Scott joined her at McCormick. Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Blackwell of Columbia and Mrs. Williams of Charleston came up last Sabbath and spent the day. Mrs. Fannie Blackwell, who has been with her sister, Mrs. Ida Black, returned home with them. Mrs. Alma Hayes and sons, Messrs. Will C. and David L. Hayes, of Newberry, spent last Sabbath with Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Horton. Mr. Phil Waters of Johnston spent last Thursday night with Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Tarrant. Mrs. Waters and Betty Phil returned home with him. The many friends of Mrs. Mary Smith will gladly welcome her home again. Mrs. Smith has been in Greenville all the year, where she went to take care of the little infant of her son, Mr. Barnard Smith. Mr. Charley Seigler spent the past two or three days at Johnston at the bed side of his sister who is very ill. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina: The teacher or teachers in each school district in co-operation with local board of trustees, shall annually before the close of the school or schools therein, between the first day and the fifteenth day of April, or not later than two weeks be fore the close of any school term, take and report an enumeration of all youth residing in the dis trict who will be between tko ages of six and twenty-one on the first day of July, following, distinguish- mg between males and females and white and colored.
