Tennessee, October 13 to 20, The department’s exhibit will cover an aitea of mdre than 3,000 square feet, the main feature covered by a cotton canopy of vivid stripes. In this area there will be a full exposi tion of the United States cotton standards and their use in the mar keting of the staple. The utiliza tion of cotton seed and of cotton linters will be shcKvn in hundreds of products from animal feeds to cell ophane, the new transparent cover ing for fruits and vegetables, and candy boxes. The processes of cot ton warehousing and the workings of the United States Warehouse Act w 11 be depicitod. Of especial inter'st in {he Govern ment exhibit is a model automobile :r connection with which is shown the various ways and places where cot ton enters the manufacture of rnotoi cars. Approximate ly 35 ponnds of cotton on the average is used in each automobile in the manufacture oi t’res, seat cushions and covers, tops and other pa:±s. Another part of the exhibit is giv en over to the development of new fabrics and dress designs intended to increase the consumptico of cotton. In still another place there will be exh bited the collection and dissemination of cotton market news, and the preparation of cotton crop reports. The comparatively new work of the Bureau of Agricultural Economics in the collection and pub lication cf grade and staple estimates will be described.
