I favor re-grading and re locating whereever necessary, the roads fnom Furey’s Ferry to the Ab beville and Graenwoc'd lines and from McCormick to the Edgefield line, and as immediate hard surfac ing of said roads as possible out of funds from highway department. Our farmers have suffered losses and sustained great hardships. If, as a ccanty, we are to make progress, our farmeis must share some of the week’s issue, but being a little short of space held them over for this is sue. The offer was made through the paper’s columns and was open to each candidate in the same degree of fairness and under the same, condit ions. On account of the limited space allowed, some matters of importance must necessarily be omitted. I favor full publicity of all public matters. McCormick County should have more than one magistrate. I am opposed to creation of new offices and levying of additional taxes <on farm lands without ccosent of the people. I favor consolidation of State of ficers and reduction of State appro priations. y I favor adequate graded and high , school f^cilities-^no taxes should be levied upc*i a school district without said district receiving its pro rata share of said taxes. GRAVES I am asking the people of McCor mick County to re-elect me as County Supervisor upon my record since taking over the office in 1923. Since I became supervisor I have endeavored to handle the business of the county efficiently. I have main tained the roads and bridges just as fully as the means to be had would permit. In read and bridge work I have been fair to all sections of the county. Many of our roads are not yet as good as I would like to see them, but the roads of 'the county are in better shape today than th^y have ever been. I stand for economy, good roads, good schctols, churches and every thing for the upbuilding of our coun ty. I have always trl*ed to economize in my personal affairs and will, if elected, promise Bo practice strict economy in handling the affairs of the county. I believe that any mem ber of the county commissioners should investigate any complaint or any matter tha£ should have the at tention of the county commissioners immediately upon receipt -of said in formation, and the necessary work or attention should be attended to at onc.*\ regardless of the time of month or in which part of the county the gang is working, so that the pub lic will not be subjected to any ser- feus handicap. I do especially recommend, and will, if elected, see that all county loads over which mail' carriers and school busos travel are kept in. the best state repair according to the appropriation for that purpose.
