The returns from Tuesday's elections
have come in slowly. The result, how
ever, was a foregone conclusion, and
about as little interest has been mani
fNsted over the returns as was in evi
dence during the campaigns.
The Republicans will control the next
House. Their majority, however, has
been cut down from forty-five to proba
bly twenty-s4 the latest returns as
we go to pres indicating that the Re
pulians have elected 204 congress
men, and the Democrats 179, with
thrie districts, the 8th Tennessee, and
the 1st and 2nd California, still very
maih ifr doubt. The Republicans. lost
t aa m in California, and for
0 the first time in eight years a Demo
crat was elected in. Iowa. In Mary

Wicker, Mrs. Ida Hunter, by Wright
street, which separates it from lands of
M. A. Carlisle and by Thos. Q. Boozer,
and known as Lot No. 4 in said order of
sale. -
Also all that lot of land in the Town
of Newberry, South Carolina, conveyed
to said Thos. Q. Boozer by Silas John
stone, Master, oy deed dated December
1st, 1890, and therein represented as
onaining Seyenty One-Huridredths
(70-100) of an Acre, more or less, and
bounded by lands of Mary Glasgow,
Wright street and Brooklyn street, and
known as Lot No. 5 of said order.
Also all that lot of land situated in
the Town of Newbeiry, South Carolina,
containing Ninety One-Hundredths (90
100) of an Acre, more or less, and
represented by plat dated and executed
by Jas. F. Glenn, surveyor, dated
February '5th, 1897 and bounded by
lands of Mrs. SAllie E. Teague,
separated therefrom by Elmore street
and lot of 0. B. Mayer and J. W.
Watts, and is the lot of land conveyed
by Susan B. McInturf to Thos. Q.
Boozer.
Terms of sale: One-half of the
p urchase money to be paid in cash, the
balance on a credit of one year, with
interest from day of sale, credit portion
to he secured by the bond of the puarch
aser and a mortgage of the premises
sold,. .respectively. Purchaser to pay
