tain other citizens who subscribed to
the fund with which the sword was
pturchased. lnfortnnately also the
incident is liablo :to injure the expo
sition, for it has beon understood that
the sword would be presented on the
occasion of the president's visit to
the exposition. The exposition mlan
agoment has had nothing 'o do with
the presentation, it is said, having
some time ago arranged for "Presi
dont's Day" and having extended an
invitation to the president to visit
the OXlposition on that day.
