Our first Quarterly Conference was held yesterday here inl the City of Newberry tle rain having hindered the holding of the necting at te time first appointed, December 27-28, 1901. Brother lerbert tendered us the use of his beautiful Church in which to hold the meeting, it being a central point for a business ses sion and inl easy reach of all tho brethreni. brother Child was with us in his usual cheerful mood, and presided in his free and easy manner. The Board of-Stewards eighteen in mimber, were all present ex cept two. We iissed our true and(] faith fil, life-long friend and brother, Gilliam Senn, who has been a faithful steward tuore than twenty years at Trinity Church, lie having cast in his lot with Brother Diant's flock at Suninerton- Our loss is their gain. His fanily is missed by us all. The Stewards made the same assess inent of ministerial support as last year $700 for pastor, which amount was paid in full last year with a nice surplus. We reported quite a number of ad ditions since onr last Quarterty Confer ence, whose named had not beeti reported in our Circuit Conference Minutes. A weekly prayer-meeting is held at each church on the circuit. The Stewards re ported $62 50 for ministerial support and $5r 90 for other objects. It was our pleasure to have with us during the con ference Brother Herbert of Central Methodist Church and Brother 'd%wards the new pastor of O'Neall Street Meth odist Church. Brother Edwards has al ready won the hearts of his people, and, multiplying friendh by scores. Brother Herbert is to be our Conference host.
