Deputy United States Marshall 1)a
videon carried Tom Greenwood, the
colored counterfeiter, to Greenville
yesterday to be tried in t he United

and was sentenced to three years.

The many friends of I)r. Geo. 13 Cro
mer, were pleased to see him on the
streets again Wednesday, having suf
fleiently recovered from his recent ill
ness to take some out-door exercise.
The greatest joke that we have read
lately is, that a Charleston policeman
the other day allowed a pickpocket to
rob him of his watch and chain on the
streets of that city while the oflicer was
on duty.

Good Roads Special stop a day at New
berry. It will go from Columbia to
Greenville, and with a little elfort on
our part, could be secured here for one

days here last week looking into the
post oflice contest,. The result of his

Magistrate W. Fi. Suber, of the coun

The Charleston firemen now hold the
championsh ip belt of Georgia and the
Carolinians. They won that honor in

in position to get otf they could easily
have been the winners-but gladly con
