Miss Maggie Werts, of Newberry,
spent last wveek with her friend and
schoolmate, Mrs. Thomas Glenn. Miss
Werts Is the professor of the chair of
English and mathematics at Limestone
College. She is one of the most ac
complished of the young wvomen who
have visited Abbevillo this summer.

A Serious Accident.
Mr. G. B. Boozer, aged about 81 years
met with a serious accident yesterdlay
morning about 4 o'clock. lie got up
from his bed and attempted to go and
got a drink of water-, but in the dark
ness he fell over a chair and in the fall
his shoulder struck the bed and knock
ed it out p)lace. Dr's. Mayer and Gilder
were called in but his age and serious
ness of the injuries would not permit of
having hIs shoulder set. And he is now
in a very dangerous condition.
