Mr. Hayne Wodeman, who gradut
ated from Newberry College a few
weeks ago, has been elected to teach
the St. Paul's school.
The city council has granted the
police ten (lays' vacation. They will
take their rest one at atime, so the citi
zens need not feel nervous.
The members of the Newberry club
will meet at the ofico of Mr. E. Hr.
Aull, Saturday evening at 8.30 o'clock
for the purpose of organizing.
Miss Lizzie Copeland, who has been I
engaged nursing In Clinton for the past
six weeks, has returned to Newberry
and Is at home with her sist,er, Mrs. J.
W. Earhardt.
Mr. Rtobt. P. Fair, representative of
the Standard Oil Company, with head
quarters in Atlanta, is in the city, for

Rev. Gee. A. Wright will preach at
Mt. Zion on next Sunday In the after
noon at 31 o'clock. Rev. Mr. Swope, the
pastor, has gone to Wisconsin on his
summer vacation.
A series of special meetidgs will be
gin in the West End Baptist church on
next Sunday morning. The pastor,
Rev. Pinsoni, wvill be assisted in these
meetings by Rev. Mr. Parrott, of Clin
