"I am glad to say that I believe the
exposit, ion is go g to be a success,"
said Mr. M. A. Garlise. pret-ident, of
the National Bank of Newberry and
chairmat of the exuosition cotimis
eloners of the County of Newberry, at
the Charleston hotel last, Monday.
"Every indication faors the exposit
tion. Newberry has been a little sl-w
ill coming to tiny agreem -i or definite
conclusion as t- th- nature of the ex
hibit it is going to make An exhibit
will be made at the exposition, i,f
course, and cne that will compire with
the oth-r county exhibits. There is
nothing in the way of the commilsin
ers now to get down to work, and as
soin as I return to Newberry I Phall set
that something in that direction is
done. As a manufacturing centre New
berry is no' backward. The toa n Is
not on a boom, but it ts gradually nov
ing forward. Withit the last, six
months a kuftting will and a spoke and
shuttle factory have been established,
and now the hu-iness men of the to% n
are going to build and rutn a furnittire
factory. The exhibits from Newberry
will naturally be the products of its
various manufacturing idustries-the
cottoll mill, the canning f ctories, the
knitting mill, the oil mill, the spoke
and shuttle fnclory, the coffin factory
atid the wood-working plants, and,
of cour-e, the producte of the field and
forest "
