How Crateful we should be for the seasonable rain! Hope it was general. I have noticed a pheniomena the pIm t few nights which sone reader of Thie Herald and News can ppssibly explain, viz.: The twinkling of the stars. The evening star, lying about 25 dlegrees from the hlorizon at to o'clock, a little above south, seemsed brighter titan tiusal, buit twintkled nlot. A bright antd very red star between it and the milky way twinkled assiduously. Onse other to the left of msilky way, onse di rectly overhead and three or four others father to the west ansd nsorthl were very bright and did not twinikie; but all others seemted danicinig in their laces. The~y carried mue back to the nursery rhyme of "'Twisnkle, twinkle little star, How I wvondcer what you arc, Up above tise world so high, Like a diamonsd in thle sky." And it mlade mie tiink of the little tot's sweet aswer, whten askedi what the twinkling, stars were. She said thsey wese "anigels winking their eyes."
