absence of the Twentieth Kansas
Volunteers in the Philippines, all ex
cepting a very few of whom are
farmers, and who, upon going to war,

their wives, sisters and swoothearts.
To say that thoso women have failed
to do their duty in cultivating tho

merited contradictioni as to chdrgo

larger crops this year than any pro

but that was caused by a very cold
wintr. Of every other cereal and

while the entire number of farmers
in the State aggregate 17,090, exclu
sive of families. In Oklahoma the

contage is about equal.
