Tuesday after the general town clec
ion.
The council was peti tioned to "change
the rules regulativg the sale of fresh
meats so as to permit persoos to pay a
licenlse for the privilege of selling and
furnish their own buildig in which to
sell sa*d fresh meats." There were
two petitions numerously signed. Time
matter was referred to tie city attorney
for a WVritten opinion on the question
involved.
Bids for the rent. or lease of the opera
house were opened a,id tihe town leased
to Messrs. P. .1. Vo-s and 11. G. hardin
for a tern of forty-three months for
$550. Lease to begin February Ist.
