bill "to authorize the utilization of
the county ain gang in the promo
tion of the health of a county or comn
muanity." It is a good bill. Certain
ly the gang cannot be usedi to better
purpose. There is enough scavenger
wvork in every town and village, and
enough drainage work in every coun
try district,, to keep all their criminals
busily etuployed the year round. Put

and a few weeks ago while Sheriff Blu

in less than two weeks he had the ne
groes. Hie caught on,e in Laurens
County and the other in the upper
part of this county.

ot,ber man and the other' is charged
with burning.
Deputy Stuoritf C. C. Whittle came
over ard carried the negroes to Saluda
yesterday.
