made it appear that Col. 0. 1,. Schun
port had come out strong for the dis
pensary". A repert of that meeting is
published elsewhero.
We thought when we saw it that
there must be some mistake, for Col.
Schumpert had been very positivo in
his oppos:ition to the diepen.-ary and Is
strongly opposed to prohibition, though
he favored the restrie;ions thrown
around the sale of liquor by the dispeu
sary law. The Green ville News under
stood that. he had changed positions, as
the following will show:
Candidate for Governor Schumpert
has defined hinself at. last as in favor
of the dispensary law is it is. Uncle
George Tillman now stands a.- the only
