Mr. M. 1). Kinard, of the Piedmont
section, Greenville County, came Into
this section about, live or six weeks ago
to visit his old friends and relatives.
He went around for several weeks sell
ing tinware and what, he supposed to
be Buncombe cabbage seed. lIo sold
Bome seed at Itl most every house in t.h is
section, black and white.* Some of the
women sowed their seed as soon as they
bought, them, and when they camne up
Ley turned out, to be noth ing more than
ordinary salad. Mr. Kinard says that,
lie bought the seed front a Mr. Jones,
of North Carolina, 11uncombe 'ouny,
for pure genuine cabbage seed and sold
themn for the same. He also said that,
he had all confidence in Mi-. Jones, and
I lat he had bought seed front him be
fore which had proven to be alright.
Mr. Kinard seems to be very much
worried over the matter, and wishes to
say to all those who purchased seed
frot hinm that the miatako or wrong
was that of Mr. Jones and not of his,
whether it was done intentionally or
tinilltenitionlally, and hopes that. none of
his kindred or friends will think that
lie intentionally practicedi a fraud upoln
them. This statement is made by spe

Observer and Voice be so kind to Mr.
Kinard as to copy.
