at Kempson's Forry, It will be re

berry told the people of Saluda that if
the Sa'uda Board would donato somo
thing, the Newberry Board would give
$1,000.
Saluda county is now and young.
We are in debt. We are unable to pay
our school teachers in cash. Yet with
all this the Saluda Board appropriated
$700 for the building of a bridge that
would benefit only a small part of our
people. A br!ago that, would be of
great advantage to the peoplo of Now
berry. A bridgo that would attract
the people of Saluda and cause them to
trade with the merobants of Newberry
and Prospeiity. A 'ridge that would
tend to draw the trado of some of our
citizons away from their own county
seat, away from their own town.
Yet, Lal,da county gives $700 and
Newberry gives $0. A ftor begging us
to give somothinz and after we have
granted their wish, Newberry is so
ungratOful that she refuses to give any
thing.
Isn't this nice? Don't the Saluda
people fool bad?
Heretofore, we have said nothing
about the bridge, pro nor cotn. But, wo
