Mouse Trap at Opera House Toniught. The Young People's Society of Thompson Street Church will give a unique and charming entertainment at tho opera house tonight, at which the Mouse 'I rap will be rendered, and in addition to this there will be excellent mu tsice. - It promises to be one of the most do lightful entertainments ever presented at tle opera house. i)i. Jas. P1. Kinard, of the Winthrop College, will give a reading, .Miss Noville Pope will sing a solo. and a quartetto will be sung by Prof. A. J. Bowers, Mr. Edwards of Due West and Messrs. E. C. and S. 13. Jones, a trio by Mesdames S. B. Jones and P. Robcrt sont and Miss ell Land. Miss Weeks will sing a solo and Mr. Henry Wells will give amusement on the guitar. This only gives a faint idea of the cntertaining progiamme that has been arranged. Admission of 25 cents will be charged. Refreshments will be served at 6 o'clock on the public square in rear of the court house and again at the samo place after the entertainment at the opera house. The Mouse Trap has never been pre sented at Newberry, but apart from that the emertainmient will well repay you for going out. Then, too, tho pro ceeds go to the fund for a now church. Tihe electric lights are to be turned on tonight, too, and you will have a good opportunity to see them while re. freshing yourself with ice cream and cake. A Teacher Wanted. Tihe undersigned Trustees will receive applications for a first grade teacher for Union Academy School until Au gust 14th next. The school pays A25 per month, and will run about six months.
