At tie conclusion of his speech Chair man Duncai (n1led attention to the fact that the resolution had received no second. Thereupon it was seconded by Col. E. S. Keitt, A. N. Boland and C. 1,Mllhuber. Capt. If. I -LFolk also spoke to the resolution. le has been nominated for the Legislature in The Herald and News. He said le would withdraw from the race, as better material could be found and had been selected, and he favored the adoption of the resolu tion. Tie question was then put and the resolution was unanimously adopt ed. Rev. Jefferson A. Sligh oflered an other resolution to the efl'eet that each delegate act as a committee of one to carry the news home and spread it aiongst the members of their respec tive clubs, and also to see to it that they turned out on the day of the election and voted the "suggestion,' or rather, we suppose, a part of it. The caucus then adjourned. Whether all these later suggestions are going to be candidates or not, we are not informed, but we presume they will. Messrs. Hardy and Duncan have resigned their respective positions on the Executive Committee, we suppose, for the purpose of entering the race.
