The pastor expects the as sistance of Rev. J. S. Moffatt of Chester. President Harrison has issued a pro clamation appointing Thursday, No vember28, as a day of National Tuanks giving. Rev. T. H. Law, the agent of the American Bible Society, will preach in the Lutheran church next Sunday night and speak in the interest of his work. The public is cordially invited to be present on this occasion. The time for the collection of town taxes will expire on the 15th of this month. There will be no extension of the time so govern yourself accordingly. Very few persons have paid so far. Mr. Ed. R. Hipp, of Pomaria, gave his baby an overdose of arsenic on Mon day by mistake. It made the child quite sick, but she has recovered now. Mr. W. H. Blease killed a hog last week that showed a remarkable in crease in weight. It weighed 65pounds when put up to be fattened and in three weeks increased to 140 pounds, making a gain of 75 pounds. Its net weight was 101 pounds. Mr. Iley W. Fant has a very neat restaurant over his saloon where you can be served with all the good things you wish. He opened last week and gave a supper to many of his friends. Mr. T. G.
