And the Devil was then greatly amius(ul,
To hear the attorney so loudly abused.
But-as soon as the speaker had come to
a close,
Th eo t el opposing him fiercely arose
Ah eaIed 'slih abuse on the iead of

The Devil has surely been robbed of his

But I'm satisfied now that its all very

For these lawyers would ruin the morals

They have puzzled the court with their

And I'm free to confess that they have

Hunting for Millions.
ICIIMoND, VA., June 28.-Parties
living in this State and South 'aro
lina have instituted legal proceed
tugs. by which they may recover a
large quantity of property in Ken
tucky, on which a portion of the
city of Frankfort is built. It up
pears that Lieutenant Colonel Charles
Fleming, a Revolutionary soldier of
diitinction and valor, was granted
for his services a tract of six thou
sand acres in the State of Ohio. AIfter
his death the land was sold, but no
valid conveyance. it is now elaimed,
was ever made of any portion of it.
The matter has been carefully looked
into by the heirs, who claim that the
city of Frankfort is principally built
on the tract which was fgrmerly
Ohio territory, and the records ol' the
Virginia lnd( ollice in the State Cap
ltol show very plainly t.he entry of
the originial deed( and the location of
tihe land as above stated. It is said
th4t there are only eight living repre
senitatives ot'old the Colonel Fleing ;
among these are M\rs. . 1. l enson,
