lVials, Oct. 2.-The meetings of the
Woman's Missionary society of this
place have been marked by much ac
tivity during the past month. A b x
of supplies has 'been sent to .the N,
toy House at Spartanburg. This was
followed by an enthusiastic meeting
held at the hospitable home of Mrs.
Floy(i Curry. On this occaswrn two
quilts were finished and later sent
to the mission school maintained by
the Methodist church at Brevard, N.
C.
The ladles met early and the day
was pleasantly spent in plying the
needle, mingle(l with del ighifu l so
cial intercourse. At noon Mrs. Curry
invited all into .the ining room where
the handsomely appointed table fairly
groaned with all manner of good
things brought In the lunch baskets.
In the afternoon M1rs. Festus Curry,
in her own inimitalble style, entertain
ed all -with some recitations which
proved very enjoyable, as was shown
by the many encores she received.
