With scarcely a third of the prob able vote in the state heard from af ter midnight last night, it was appar ent that a full rec.ort of the election from over the state would not be like ry. From returns received up to that time, it appears almost a certainty that Cole 1,. Blease and Thos. G. Mc Lieod will make a second race for gov ernor. Laney polled a large vote and the final outcome will depend upon wvhere his vote will go. The other can didates for governor received but slight recognition at the .polls. Late reports indicated that Dove would be elected secretary of state and Duncan comptroller general. Other races were more or less, uncertain. Bulletins on these races will be found below. fuLl RETURNS Of COJNTY VOTE For First. Time iII 18 Years Complete .iIeturns are Secured, from Every Preinct, III the, County, the. Last - Box 114iorted at 11:30. For the firsttime In about 18 years coimplete election returns were so cured in LauIrens county last night shortly before midnight. When it was found that one box, Pleasant .Mound, was missing a -arty of four motored to that community and ob tained tile vote at that box, thus com pleting-the county oil state as well as . .county returns. For the house of representatives Carroll .D. Nance and W. L. Gray were nominated in the first primary. J. 0. Barnett of Clinton and J. L. Browning wilj run over for the third pilace on the ticket. The closest contest of the Laurens county primary was tile race for su pervisor betjween John D. W. Watts, incumbent, and 'Walter M. Nash. Ac cording to the complete unofficial re turns on this race onily two votes sep arate the contestants, Nash having a vote of 2514 and Watts a total of 2512. It is possible-that the omclal count will be made Thursday when the coun ty executive committee nieets, may 'be change'd in favor of either candidate. In the contest for county superin tendent of education Miss Kate V. Woffdrd and Ben A. Sullivan will make a second race. Ross 1). Young Is renominated as county treasurer, and J. W. Thompson has won for county auditor. Toy -A. Ilrummond was elected coun ty commissioner. A. -B. Blakely ahd' A. iH-. (Moore, both members of the board now, wvill run the second race for the other ,place on the board. Judge 0. 0. Thomoon was re-elect ed without opposition. The rural police system iwas re tained by a heavy ,vote,, probably albout two to one.
