ing threw open to public travel what
is declared to be the highest bridge
for vehicle travel in use east of the
Mississippi river and one of the high
est to be found anywhere in the Uni
ted states.

high officials of Cherokee county, mem
bers of the county and state highway
departments, delegations from Spar
tanburg and Greenville, and possibly
1,000 Cherokee county people. The
crowd made a brave showing when the

much interest taken.
