All licenses issued for one day only shall be double the amount above mentlotied for Saturdays. show days, Christmas days and other oays of public gatherings. Soc. 3. That all licenses issued un der and 'by virtue of this Orinance shall be non-transferable arnd, ex cept a lHeense for a day, a week or a month, shall terminate ,and .end on the 21lst day of December of the year in which they were .issued; but niay ,be revoked at any time by the City Pouncil of 'the' City, of IAufens on satIsfaetory cause being shown, Ex jropt license issued for a day, a week or a month, annual rates sha.ll be charged for all licensee issued prior to Juno 30th of any year, three-fourths the annual rate shall 'be chartged for all licenses issued after June 30th of any yeir and prior to September 30th of any year; and one-half the annual rates for all licenses issued after Seep tember 30th of any year, and Drier to December 311s~t of any year. Any person, firm, company or corporation proeseuudng or engag ing In any business, occupation or profession, or keeping or maintaining any establishment named in this Or dinance .without having first paid the iMcensk tax imposed thereon, shall, up on conviction, be fined not exceeding one hundred dollars, or be imipris oned not exceeding thirty days with or without hard labor at the discre tIon of the officer trying the case, Sec. 5. An ordinance to levy an annual tax upon the taxable property within ie corporate limits of the City of Lau rens, to Taise supplies to defray bond ed indebtedness of the said City of Laurens for the fiscal year commene ing January 1st, 1922, and to pay pwat indebtedness of said city, and also t levy and collect a sufficient amount to pay the interest upon the bonded indebtedness of the said city for the year 1922, and to raise a sinking fund for the payment of same. BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of Laurens: Sec. 1. That a tax of One and 05-100 Dollars on every one hundred dollars worth of property, real and porsegqq not exempt by law from taxation witR in the corporate limits of the City of Laurens, be and the samo Is hereby levied- for corporate purposes to de fray the public expenses of the City of Laurens for the fiscal year, corn mencding January 1st, 1922, and to meet other indebtedness as has been contracted by said city for corporate purpcecs; That an additional levy of fifty-five (5) cents on every one hun dred dollars worth of the assessed value of all property, real and per sonal, not exempt from taxation, sit uated within tho corporate limits af the City of Laurens, be and the same is hereby levied, to meet the interest accruing on the bonded indebtedness of the 'Olty of Laurens during the fis cal year 1922 and to create a sinklags fund to be used in aid of retirement and payment of said bonds, and the excess, if any,. shall be need by lbe City Council for other corporate -pur poses.
