efforts extending over a period of sev
eral weeks have been made to induce
'hilm to accept this invitation. Last
week, Governor Cooper came to Green
ville to look over the several homes of
fered -him, and at that time he was
shown over the 'Paris Mountain pro
pertics by Sam R. Zimmerman, I)resi
dent of the Paris Mountain Company,
and other citizens..
Governor Cooper deelded upon the
summer home of Allen J. Graham,
cotton mill executive, and this place,
which is in the midst of the Paris
Mountain Company's development, is
to he put into the best of condition tim
mediately. The governor Was offered
the home of Congressman .1. J. me
Swain, on North Main street, but this
offer he was unable to accept as his
physician has advised him to -go to the
mountains for the warm months.
Governor Cooper Is expected in
Greenville about June 15, but the exact
date on which he will arrive has not
yet been set. It is iobable that the
letter miileh he is writing to Mr. Allen
will bring definite information in this
connection. 'lie will remain here
through tle greater 1portion of the

Two young Swedish students of
geology named Wadell and Ygberg, af
ter ni. adventurous nine days' expe

what is believed to be the largest
crater in the world, measuring eight
kilometers (five miles) long and five
