NOTICE OF THE COUNTY TREASURER Tho books of the County Treasurer wil4 be open for tho collection of State, County and Commutation Road Taxes -for the fiscal year, 1920, at the T'reasurer's ofliceo from Oct6ber 15th to Decomber 31st, 1920. After December 31 one per cent will be added. After January 31st, two per cent will .be added, and after Feb. 28th, seven 'per cent will be added until the 15th day of March, 1921, when the books !will be closed. All ipersons owning property In more than ono township are requested to call for receipts in each of the several townships in which the prop erty is located. This is important, as additional cost and penalty may be at tached. All able-bodied male citiezns be tween the ages of twenty one (21) and sixty (60) years of age are liable to pay a poll tax of $1.00, except old sol diers,. who are exempt at fifty (50) years of age. Commutation Road Tax $6.00 in lieu of road duty. All able bodied men -between the ages of 21 and 55 are liable to Road duty except th.se in Military Service, School Trustees, School Teachers, Ministers, and Students. C., Nov. 21. -Frank and Floyd Kirby, aged six and eight years res.pectively, whose mutilated bodies rivere found in 93luo Branch creok, six miles from here Saturday afternoon, came to their deaths at the hand of Rtoy Henderson was the verdict of the coroner's Jury at the inquest completed here today. Henderson, sixteen year old youth, who is alleged to have done the kill Ing, 'was captured last night at It o'clock by the county sheriff and dep titles at 'Butler in this county and was lodged in the Cherokee county jail. 'The yoitli had gone to the home of a farmer at Butler and having secured lodging, was preparing to retire when the ofileers made the arrest. According to th story given by of ficers, Henderson Is alleged to have en ticed Frank and Floyd Kirby uway from home Saturday afternoon to go hunting. When near the creek, it is al leged, he shot the smaller boy, blow lig off the right hand tol of the head, then caught the older boy and beat him over the head with his gun until he was dead, after which he took the bodies and threw them into a deeli hole of water. It was learned from officers tonight that lienderson denied the killing af ter his arrest, lie is quoted as say nig that he left Frank -an( Floyd Kir by at a certain point after they went out hunting with him. After parting with the boys, he told ofilcers, he was fired upon by a negro. When asked how his gun, which was found in two pieces near the scene of the killing was broken, 11e is said to have claimed that when tile negi n fired at him he fell, breaking the gun as he went to the ground.
