Cherokee County is leading the way
in the organization. of community
warehouses for storing cotton, as is
shown by the report below from
County Agent 'S. C. Stribling, who 1s
actively promoting this good -work in
conjunction with the Cotton Associa
tion and the State Warehouse Com
nissioner.
"During the 'week I succeeded in
getting community cotton warehouse
comupanies organized in the .\iacedo
lia and the MlKown Mountain con
nunities, Each company1 has the full
stock subscribed, the olliders elected
and has taken steps to immediately

make five such organizations per

per cent. For the strictly farm terri
tory, the rate was 3.2 per cent and
that of the villages was 4.7 per cent.
Among the urban centers, cities ex
ceeding 50,000 increased at 26.4 per
cent, those of 10,000 to 50,000 at 26.7
per cent and those of 2,500 to 10,000
at 18.8 per cent. From 1900 to 1910
the percentage rates of increases for
these three classifications of cities
were 3'3.6, 33.7 and 27.8, reppectively.
