Miller filled his regular appointment Sunday morn ing. Mr. and Mrs. M. Miller,. his son and daughter, very ably assisted in the music wihch added very much to the services. They were dinner guests at the hospitable home of Mr. and Mrs. J. IR. Patterson. The Rural Iiprovement Association and Home Demonstra-tion Club had a very helpful meeting Friday afternoon. A good iprogram was rendered and de lightful refreshmeits were served by the committee: Mrs. J. R. Patterson, Airs. Ethel Lanford and Mrs. A. 11. Holmes. Miss Daisy Harris presented a demonstration on the proper methods of table serving and formal table man ners, etc. We appreciate her efforts and are using her freely and will send a delegate from our club to summer school at Winthrop, if possible. M r. C. 1). Cox is in Laurens this week attending court as Juryman. Mr. J. W. Johnson "went to Atlanta Saturday on a business visit. Mr. C. C. Pleasant on the evening of the 24th was quite a success, both socially and financially. Every one present enjoyed the occasion and more than $75.00 was realized. NMrs. Sue IPinson, of Greenville, spent last week here with her mother, Mrs. Ada MoPherson. .\Mr. James 1. Smith has been on the sick list for the past several days, but is some better now. Miss Annie McPherson, who is at tending school at Laurens, was a week end visitor to home folks. Only a few have any cotton seed planted. The people about here were aroused very much about the mad dogs. One or two 'were killed.
