preine court was hearing argument to
day onl the validity of the wartime
prohibition act word went out from
the White House that the President I
would not rescind the "dry" act until
peace formally had been declared.
This was expected to set at rest the
ever recurring rumors that the "dry"
ban would be lifted by the President,
irrespective of early ratilleation of the
