Washington, June 29.--Tho superior
bockade council has been intructed
to be prepared to raise the economic
blockade of Germany immediately up
on ratification by the German national
assembly of the peace treaty.
This announcement was made to
night in a dispatch to the state depart
ment from Paris, reading as follows:
"At a meeting Thursday, June 26th,
the council of the principal allied and
associated powers adopted following.
resolutions in regard to the raising
of the blockade on Germany.
"The superior blockade council is
Instructed to base its arrangements
for rescinding restrictions upon trade
with Germany on the assumption that
the allied and associated powers will
not wait to raise the blockade until
the completion of the ratification as
provided for at the end of the treaty
of peace with Germany but that it is
to be raised immediatey on the re
ceipt of the information that the
treaty or peace has been ratified by
Germany."

WILKINS GUILTY
OF WIFE MURWER
Aged New York Physician Is Guilty of
First Degre( Murder, Jury Decides.
Mineola, N. Y., June 27.-Counsel
for Dr. Walter Keeno Wilkins, found
guilty here today of murder in the
first degree for killing his wife, Julia,
at their Long Branch home, Feb. 27,
announced tonight that ho would
carry the case to the court of appeals
and to the governor if necessary. The
verdict carried with a recommenda
tion for clemency which, under the
law, the court cannot heed. The only
penalty permitted in this State for
first degree murder is death in the
electric chair.
The jury that convicted the aged
physician was out nearly 23 hours,
establising a record for Nassau coun
ty. Foreman Paries said twenty bal
lots werc taken. On the fourteenih
ballot the ijiry stood eleven to one for
conviction. It took seven hours to
sway the twelfth man.
When the verdict was ainoniticed
Dr. Wilkinls displayed little emtotion.
