Mr. Burns, who is an attorney at the
Carrollton bar, has just recently re
celved his dischargo from the army
and is taking a short vacation before
taking up his practice again.

They have recently been at. Lewisburg,
Va., but are now on their way to
Washington and Lee University with
which Air. Adams will be connected
next year.
Alr. J. M. Fewell, who taught for
several years in the Watts Miills

and North Carolina, was that of Miss
Shirley Catharine lix and J. Harold
Moore, of Wilmington, North Carolina,
which was solemnized yesterday at
noon at the home of the bride's uncle
and auiunt, Mir. and 'irs. J. S. Bennett.
Tihe entire lower floor of the house
was thrown open and artistically
decorated for the occasion. One corn
er of the drawing room was banked
with ferns 1nd daisies, forming an im
provised altar. The ceremony was
performed by Dr. .1. 1). Pitts, now of
Greenwood, but w'ho was formerly
tle pastor of the bride inl her child
hood days, and also the pastor of the
brid's mother and grandmother.
