Governor .oopei has appointed a memorial commission e two members from each congressional 3 district, to have charge of the erec tion of a memorial building in honor of the white soldiers, sailors, marines and others who served in the world war. Another commission to have charge of the erection of a memorial to negroes 'will soon be appointed. Th< Joint resolution provided further thai $100,000 should be available from thc t State treasury for each memorial when popular subscriptions should have reached a figure considered ade quate and that some of the members should be women.
