Milk Products and Garden Notes.

Agent, spent last week with me. Miss
Forney expects to select about four
counties, which sho will visit regular
ly every month. In these counties she
wants to teach the ladies of certain
communities the following: 'Care of the
cow, handling the milk, butter mak
ing, nutritive value of iilk, use of milk
in cooking, cottage-cheese making, etc.

permit, the garden plot should be
thoroughly p1lowed and sub-soiled, and
harrowed until a perfect seed bed is
formed.
In the home garden onion sets, rad
ish, turnips and mustard seeds should
be planted. The Alaska, Extra Early
and First and Best are good varieties
of garden peas for early planting.
Irish Cobbler, Red Bliss and Early
Rose are excellent varieties of Irish
potatoes for early planting. You may
risk a small planting of lettuce and
beet seed the last of this month. Set
out at once "frost-proof" cabbage
plants for early cabbage.

planting, late cabbage, eggplant, Pelp

On the evening of December the
third, just as.the golden sun was set,
ting, the death angel entered the home
of (Mr. and Mrs. John Moore and 'bore
on its wings to that better home be
yond, their seventeen year old son,
Claude.
Claude was a sweet spirited boy,
loved by all who knew him. le al
ways had a smile for everyone and
willing to hell) in any way he could.

ty. lie was a member of the Presby
terian Sunday school of Owings. He
had not been absent from his Sunday
school in six years. Ilie wore a six
year badge of honor for his perfect
atten(ance. Although there is a still
ness of voice and a vacant place in
the church and elsewhere as well as
in the home, we are assured if we
live the life lie lived, we will meet
hin on that bright shore where thuis
sad parting 1will come no 1 more. "Hle
giveth and taketh and doeth all things
well."
On the following day his body was
taken fron home to Owings and laid
to rest under a nouind of the most
beautiful flowers and in the presence
of many grief-stricken friends and
relatives. ills Sunday school class
acted as pall bearers.
There's a tone of heartfelt sadness,
In the twitter of the birds,
There Is gone that tone of gladness,
Inexpressible in words.
In the evening by the fireside,
You will find a vacant chair,
As the twilight shadows mingle
With the gloom and sa(ness there.
There a young life has been blighted,
As a rosebu(d in the morn;
Has been plhicked out of existence
E're the dew of childhood's gone.
Though this young life has been

E're his work in life begun,
lie has left a wondrous record
Which is second bes t to none.
On his breast a badge of honor
Which through six long years he'd
won;
