Notice is hereby given that the next
Annual Alecting of the County Board
of Commissioners of Laulrens County,
S. C., will be holden at Laurens Court
louse, S. C., at the Supervisor's ollec
on Thursday after the first Monday of
January 1919, being the 9th day of the
unth, at the hour of ten o'clock in
the forenoon.
All persons holding claims or de
manlds of any kind against the County,
not previously presented to the Board,
are hereby notilled and required to file
same with the Clerk of the Board on or
before the first day of January, so that
they may. be ordered to be paid at the
annual meetingfl as provided by law.

The hooks of the County Treasurer
will be open for the collection of
Slate, County and Commutation Road
Taxes for fiscal year, 1918, at the
'I'easurer's ollice from October 15th
to December 31st, 1918. After Decem
her 31st one per cent will be added.
After Janlauary 31st, tw% > per cent will
be added, and after February 2Sth,
even per (ent will be added till the
1511h day of March, 1919, when the
books will be closed.
All persons owning property In
more than one township are request
ed to call for receipts in each of the
several townships in which the pro
perty is locatel. This is important, as
a(ldlitional cost and penalty may be
attached.
All able-bodied male citizens be
tween the ages of 21 and 60 ycars of
age are liable to pay g poll tax of
g,.00, except old soldi'ers, w%-ho are
exempt at 50 years of age. Commuta
ton Road Tax $1.50 in lieu of road
dity. All men now%- in military ser
vice are exempt from road tax.
