most strenuous yet experienced by the
lea'ders of Red Cross work since the
organization of the local chapter,. as
well as being one of (he most success
ful from the financial standpoint. Ac
cording to the announcntent last
week Dr. J. II. 'Powe observed Red
'Cross day at his drug store last Friday,
February Sth. The day was a success
from every standpoint as numerous
persons en.Ioyed the delicious and
refresh lng drinks which were served
and at. the saute time helped to re
pl enish the coffers of the local chap

At one camp there were not enough
overcoats in the stores to go around,
so the I3rlttish 'Tommies gladly took
off their coats and put them on the

fronm the Ileifast branch knitted iltf
liers, heletos and( sweaters which were
especially weleomnedi by the Am ericans
in, their first experience with the Irish
climate.
