Mc Cown as the cQmmittec to investigate the charges made by the governor against Former (lame Warden RichU ardson in his veto message. This com mnittee tvill meet the flrst of next week, and immediately begin the invostiga Lion. The senate this morning killed a bill by Senator Durant of Clarendon, providing for the removal of sieriifs or other peace or county oflicers for incapacity, mujconiduct or neglect of duty. This measure precipitated qluite- a discussion, Senator J. F. Wil Ilams, of Aiken, leading the fight on the measure and Senators Duitant and Blonhaln defending it. The senate also killed 'Senator 1)u diant's bill to amend the section of laws with reference to causes for which county auditors may be re moved. In the HIouse this morning Repre sentatives Toole, Wasson, Robe, and Crews Introduced a concurrent reso lution requesting the state to cot mission to rescind its instructions to the county auditors to assess land and personal property in the various counties at 5,0 per cent of actual values.
