He was sick only a few hours, death 'being due to heart failure. Mr. Brown was a well known and highly respected Christian gentleman, a faithful mem ber of the Presbyterian church, and was also a veteran of the civil war. Ite was formerly of .Darlington coun ty but a resident of this place for a number of years. The funeral services will be con ducted here on Tuesday at 10 o'cloctk Arrangements are now being made for the purpose of having t.wo enter tainmen ts here on Christmas eve night, one for the Baptists, the other for the Methodist Sunday school.
