Word from Rome More Encouraging
as to Ability of (leneral Cordona to
Witistand Attack.
Washington, Oct. 29.---Word from
Rome today that the Italian line wias
holding against tho terrifle assault of
the Austro-G ermian forces was re
celved by ofilcial Washington with
eager interest and frank relief. Miii
tary authorities here have not dis
guised their keen anxiety as press re

backward under the crushing blows of
the enemy.

Woman's Service, located between the
Laurens Hotel and Powo hrug Store,
on the day of the fair. Out of town

lair grounds and acrons the street

A committee in charge of the rooi
will be glad to answer any-question
about the work accomplished by the
Laurens League and will also give
