Hatton, a young farm er of Clinton, has waived all claims for exemption from army service and has potriotically made a sacrifice to go to the front, in reply to his for mal request that no claims for ex emptilon be flied, Mr. J. E. McDonald, chairman of the Western District Board, has written a letter of appre ciation of his unselfish act. Mr. Hatton's letter, dated Aug. 30th, Clinton 11. F. ). No. 2, is as fol lows: Dear Sirs: .I understand that my friends here filed claims before your Board for m.f exemption from services In the army. I appreciate very much their efforts in my behalf, but I know that I have been fairly and impartially drawn for service, therefore, I think it my patriotic duty to go and render to my government and my country the very best services that I am cap able of rendering.
