* VOWINOS NEWS. OWings, April 9.--One of the loveli est affairs in the social life'of our litl tic town was the monthly meeting of the Royal Floral Society at the home of Mrs. It. O. 1Hunt, Thursday after noon, April 6th. ''he president, Mrs. V. A. White, called the meeting to order and after the transaction of business Mrs. .1. C. DuPree invited the ladies into the hall where froi a lovely bower she served delightful punch.' The cut glass bowl was buried in white lilacs and iris with festoons of pink. The little nuin hered cards with pencils were given each guest by Miss Louise Owings and Mr. R. T. Wilson explained the con -test. Nine pictures were passed, each representing it special inake or candy. At the close of the contest It was found to he a tie between Mrs. .1. T. Owings and .\rs. Zeb Vance. After drawing 'Mrs. Vance was the- winner and was presented with a, lovely box of candy which she very gracefully passed and created quite a good deal of fun when it was found to be an "April fool". We were ushered into the dining room, lovely with its burning tapers and decoratiins of pink and white. On the table a lovely crochet centertilece with bowl of handsome pink and white hyacinthis. On the serving table were beautiful clusters of apple blossoms. Serving in Ihe dining room were the four little cousins, Louise and Floy Owing:;, Margaret I)ul'ree and Eloise Hunt, lovely in their white lingerie dresses with pink ribbons. The color scheme was carried out in the deli cious Charlotte I Russe and cake. Pink and white mints Were served. The souvinores were minature white bun nie rabbits tied with pink ribbons. After leaving the dining room we had great meriment in pinning a tail In a rabbit which was drawn on a scarf and tacked to the door. Those enjoying Mrs. 1-unt's hospitality were Mirs. .1. T. Owings.
