with a large attendance.
The subject. of the day was "Mov
ing Pictures." Mrs. 1H. S. lBlackwell
read a clear and concise paper on
"The Influence of Motion Pictures Up,
on the Rllsing Generation", prefaced
by an illustration from life. Mrs. 1B.
T,. Parkinson gave her idea of a "llet
ter Film" and made a plea for more
"better films", while Mrs. Brooks Swy
gert. i'cal clippings about "Leading
l'hoto-P'lay W1ritrs".
Then followed an animated discus
sion by all the club members as to
how "better films" may be secured
for Laurens. After the usual business
meeting, delicious refreshment'. were
served by the hostess and the meeting
adjourned.
