lived with hit for several years and
we want to say right here that we
never had better workers than Iloaduts
and Mary. lIroadus was one of the
best hands we ever knew. lie was al
ways ready to do more than his part
and when lie carried your stock out
to any place, cold or hot, you could
rest easy that he would take care of
them. We have known him to take
his own money and buy feed for the
stock, while others would not even
give them water. We are sorry that
such a crime was committed here in
our midst, or anywhere else as to
that, and especially Broadus Work
man, the darkey that we liked so
much, but we believe in law and or
der, and we trust that the ofilcers of
the law will overtake him and that
justice will be meted out to him.

There were no other eye witnesses as

at the time swears that he was asleep.
Circumstantial evidence, it is known
will figure largely in the trial.
