Chester, Nov. S.--John Williams,
alias Giles Williams, a negro aged '30
years, weighing aboutt 2-15 pounds
was shot to death last evening by A.
Walton Ilollis, the son of Arthur Ilol
uls, a prominent. farmer of the Mlit
ford section of Fairfield county, near
Great Falls on the steep MeAliley hill.
Mr. Hlollis, who Is about 21 years of
age, claims that the killing was done
in self defense. lie was released this
afternoon on $1,000 bond.
Mlr. IHollis stated today that he was
going to Great Falls and prior to
reaching the Rock Creek bridge he
met the negro, who asked to let him

rode along for some distance with the
negro seated in the rear seat of the
car. As they were going up the steel)
